iPhone users beware: if you subscribed inside the iOS app years ago, Apple bills you (often at a higher price than Google charges) and only Apple can cancel it.
Cancel YouTube Premium
- Open your memberships page. Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships in a browser and sign in with the Google account that has Premium.
- Manage the membership. Click "Manage membership" next to YouTube Premium.
- Choose pause or deactivate. Click "Deactivate" → "Continue to cancel", or choose "Pause" for a 1–6 month billing break instead.
- Confirm. Pick a reason, confirm, and look for the confirmation email. Premium features last until the end of the billing period.
Family plans and Apple billing
If you're on a family plan, only the family manager can cancel — members leaving the family group lose Premium but don't stop the manager's billing.
Subscribed on an iPhone? Check iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If YouTube Premium appears there, Apple bills you and cancellation happens there, not on youtube.com.
