Cancel a Play subscription
- Open the subscriptions list. On your phone: Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On the web: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- Pick the subscription. Tap the subscription you want to stop. Each entry shows the app, price, and next renewal date.
- Cancel. Tap "Cancel subscription", pick a reason, and confirm. It runs until the end of the paid period and then stops.
- Check for pauses and resubscribe offers. Some apps offer a pause or a discount during the cancel flow — take the discount only if you actually use the app.
Uninstalling never cancels
Deleting an app does not touch its subscription — Play keeps charging. Google shows a notification reminding you when you uninstall a subscribed app, but only sometimes. Always cancel first, then uninstall.
"GOOGLE *APPNAME" on your card statement means a Play-billed charge. If the app name is unfamiliar, open the Play subscriptions page — the charge will match one of the entries there or on a family member's account.
