Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. What GhostSubs is

GhostSubs (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) is a web application that, with your permission, reads receipts and renewal notices in your Gmail inbox to help you find, organize, and reduce your subscription spending. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your account

You sign in with your Google account; we do not operate separate passwords. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and legally able to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure.

3. Your permissions to us

The Service only works if you grant read-only access to your Gmail account. You can revoke that access at any time from your Google Account permissions or delete your data from within the Service. Revoking access stops all scanning; it does not by itself delete previously extracted data (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works).

4. Acceptable use

  • Only connect a mailbox you own or are authorized to connect.
  • Do not attempt to probe, disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the Service, or access another person's data.
  • Do not use the Service in violation of applicable law or of Google's or your email provider's terms.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that put the Service or other users at risk.

5. What the Service is not

GhostSubs provides informational estimates built from the emails it can see. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice, and it is not a complete record of your finances: amounts, renewal dates, and statuses are derived from email evidence and can be incomplete or out of date (for example, if a receipt never reached your inbox). Always confirm with the merchant or your bank before making decisions. GhostSubs never initiates, modifies, or cancels payments on your behalf.

6. Fees

The Service is currently free of charge. If we introduce paid plans we will announce pricing clearly in advance; we will never charge you silently.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and content (excluding your data and third-party trademarks), belongs to us. Service names and logos shown in your dashboard (e.g. Netflix, Spotify) belong to their respective owners and are displayed only to identify your subscriptions.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every subscription will be found.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and USD $50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account and stored data from the dashboard. We may suspend or discontinue the Service (or your access to it) with reasonable notice where practicable, and immediately in cases of abuse or legal necessity.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
