How to cancel Hulu

Updated 2026-07-09 · GhostSubs guides

Hulu is one of the few streamers with a real pause button: you can suspend billing for up to 12 weeks without cancelling. If you're just between shows, pausing beats cancelling.

For a full cancellation, do it on hulu.com in a browser — and as always, if Apple, Google, Amazon, or a Disney bundle bills you, cancel there instead.

Cancel (or pause) Hulu

  1. Log in on the web. Go to hulu.com and sign in, then click your profile icon → Account.
  2. Find the cancel option. Under "Your Subscription", click "Cancel". Hulu will first offer to pause your subscription — choose pause if you want billing to stop temporarily instead.
  3. Confirm the cancellation. Continue past the offers and confirm. You keep access until the end of the current billing cycle.
  4. Bundle subscribers. If you're on the Disney+ bundle, the cancel option may live on the service where you originally subscribed — check your receipt emails to see who bills you.

Pause vs cancel

Pausing stops billing for 1–12 weeks and resumes automatically; your profile, watchlist, and add-ons all stay in place. Cancelling stops billing indefinitely, and your viewing data is retained for a while but not forever.

If you find yourself pausing repeatedly, that's a signal the subscription belongs on your cancel list — a rotating strategy (subscribe one month a year to binge, then cancel) is usually cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

How long can I pause Hulu?

Up to 12 weeks. Billing stops during the pause and restarts automatically when it ends.

Will I be charged again after pausing?

Yes — pause is temporary by design. Set a reminder for the resume date if you might want to cancel outright.

I have Hulu through the Disney bundle — where do I cancel?

Cancel wherever you created the bundle (Hulu, Disney+, or Verizon etc.). Your receipt emails or card statement show who actually bills you.
