GhostSubsSuper Duolingo (formerly Duolingo Plus) must be cancelled on the platform where you subscribed — Apple, Google, or Duolingo's website — and the app itself mostly just points you to the right place.
Your streak, league, and course progress are completely unaffected by cancelling; you go back to the free experience with ads and limited hearts.
Cancel Super Duolingo
- Figure out where you subscribed. Check your receipt emails: Apple receipts mean iOS billing, Google Play receipts mean Android billing, and Duolingo/Stripe receipts mean web billing.
- iPhone/iPad. Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Duolingo → Cancel Subscription.
- Android. Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Duolingo → Cancel.
- Web. On duolingo.com, open Settings → Super (or "Choose a plan") → Manage subscription → Cancel. Super stays active until the period ends.
Family plan note
On a Super family plan, only the plan owner can cancel, and cancelling ends Super for all members at the period's end. Members leaving the family group don't reduce the owner's price.

Do I lose my streak if I cancel?
No — streaks, XP, leagues, and course progress are all account data, not Super features. Only perks like unlimited hearts and no ads go away.
Why can't I cancel inside the Duolingo app?
App-store rules: subscriptions bought through Apple or Google can only be cancelled in those stores' subscription managers. The app links you there.
Will I be charged after the free trial?
Yes, automatically — unless you cancel before the trial end date. Cancelling early doesn't shorten the trial.
