Crunchyroll keeps a free ad-supported tier, so cancelling Premium doesn't lock you out — you lose simulcasts, offline viewing, and ad-free playback but keep your account, queue, and watch history.
As with other streamers, cancel where you're billed: Crunchyroll's website if you subscribed there, otherwise your app store.
Cancel Crunchyroll Premium
- Sign in on the web. Go to crunchyroll.com in a browser, click your profile icon, and open Settings.
- Open membership settings. Choose "Membership Plan" in the left menu.
- Cancel. Click "Cancel Membership" and confirm through the offer screens. Premium runs until your paid period ends.
- App-store billing. If the membership page says you're billed via Apple or Google, cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions or the Play Store's subscription manager.
Before you cancel
Offline downloads stop working the moment Premium lapses, and seasonal simulcast access ends. If you mostly watch older catalog shows, the free tier may genuinely be enough — that's the cheapest "downgrade" in streaming.
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose my queue and history?
No — your account stays, along with your queue and watch history. Only Premium features disappear.
Can I still watch free?
Yes, Crunchyroll's ad-supported free tier covers a large part of the catalog, excluding most new simulcasts.
When do charges stop?
Immediately after the current billing period — cancelling prevents the next renewal but doesn't refund the current one.
