How to cancel Canva Pro

Updated 2026-07-09 · GhostSubs guides

Canva Pro trials auto-convert to a paid plan (often annual), so most people cancelling are trying to beat the trial deadline. Your designs are never deleted — they stay on the free tier, though Pro-only elements inside them get watermarked until removed or repurchased.

Cancellation happens in Canva's web settings; app-store signups cancel through Apple or Google.

Cancel Canva Pro

  1. Open billing settings. On canva.com, click the gear icon (Settings) → "Billing & plans".
  2. Cancel the plan. On your Canva Pro plan, click the "…" or "Change plan" menu → "Cancel subscription" (or "Cancel trial").
  3. Confirm through the offers. Canva offers a pause or discount; continue to confirm. You keep Pro until the trial or billing period ends.
  4. Mobile signups. If billing shows Apple or Google as the payment method, cancel in iOS Settings → Subscriptions or Play Store → Subscriptions.

What happens to your designs

All designs remain accessible on the free plan. Designs using Pro stock photos, fonts, or elements show watermarks or ask for licensing when exported — swap those elements for free ones and everything exports normally. Brand Kit folders and some team features become read-only.

Frequently asked questions

Will Canva delete my designs when I cancel?

No — designs are kept on the free tier indefinitely. Only Pro-only elements inside them are restricted until replaced.

When should I cancel a Canva trial?

Any time before the trial end date — you keep Pro for the full trial either way. Canva sends a reminder before annual trials convert, but don't rely on it.

Can I get a refund for an accidental annual renewal?

Canva's support refunds unintended annual renewals in many cases if you contact them promptly after the charge.
